If you leave an urgent voicemail letting us know your situation, we can return your call in a timely matter and complete the MCS 150 electronically. This means that your USDOT number will be active/current either instantly or no longer than 24 hours. To file electronically, you will need your EIN/TAX ID, and FMCSA PIN.

OPERATIONS CEASED
Most companies impounded over the USDOT get their whole fleet impounded. This means that you cannot operate the business until your MCS 150 is complete. This is enforced by the US Department of Transportation & Safety Officers/ Police Officers.
INSURANCE CANCELLATION
Insurance can be paused or canceled due to your MCS 150 form not being completed. When your form is not completed it shows the government and insurance that you may no longer be operating, Insurance also cannot update new information unless your MCS 150 form is complete.
"Companies that operate commercial vehicles transporting passengers or hauling cargo in interstate commerce must be registered with the FMCSA and must have a USDOT Number. Also, commercial intrastate hazardous materials carriers who haul types and quantities requiring a safety permit must register for a USDOT Number."
